The flowers have a deep purple colour that sometimes leans towards wine red. Plant it beside white or soft pink tulips and the dark flowers will stand out naturally. As it does not grow particularly tall, it is also suitable for pots and planters.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e'Alison Bradley' flowers in April and May and reaches around 40 cm in height. The sturdy stems support the heavy flowers surprisingly well. Plant them from October until the ground freezes. You can add a little organic fertiliser when planting, but do not overdo it. Leave the foliage undisturbed until it turns yellow naturally, as the bulb uses its leaves to store energy for the next growing season.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo keep the bulbs for another flowering season, lift them once the foliage has completely died back. However, flowering often becomes less abundant and the risk of disease increases.
