When the flower fully opens, the yellow stamens become visible in the centre, creating a striking contrast. The flowers are large, beautifully fragrant and very suitable for cutting and displaying in a vase.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIt is also a strong and reliable plant that returns year after year. Give it a good position and some extra nourishment in spring (such as compost or dried manure), and you will notice that it becomes fuller and more floriferous with time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eHow, where and when should I plant peonies?\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhen planting, it is important that the new shoots (the small red buds) remain just above soil level. Planting too deeply can result in poor or absent flowering. Peonies also dislike being moved, so choose a permanent position from the start.
