Organic salmon pink filled daffodil

The organic narcissus 'Replete' is an elegant and refined variety within the Narcissus genus. This double narcissus is known for its richly filled flowers with soft creamy white outer petals and an enchanting apricot pink heart. The bloom is full and peony-shaped, which gives it a luxurious appearance. Thanks to its special colour scheme, it is a real eye-catcher in the spring garden and perfect for borders, flower beds and as a cut flower in a vase.

The narcissus 'Replete' grows to approximately 40 centimetres in height and blooms in mid to late spring, usually in April. It has sturdy flower stems with a single large flower per stem. The flowers spread a light, pleasant scent. Due to its height and appearance, this narcissus is particularly suitable as a statement plant or as part of a mixed spring planting with, for example, Muscari, hyacinths or ornamental onions.

How, where and when do I plant a daffodil bulb?

An organic narcissus bulb needs a cold period to flower well. Therefore, plant the bulbs from September to January at the latest. The planting depth is two to three times the height of the bulb and the planting distance two to three times the width. In pots, the bulbs can be planted closer together for a fuller effect. After flowering, they can be moved to a suitable spot in the open ground if necessary.

Plant the 'Replete' in a sunny to semi-shaded spot in nutritious, well-drained soil. It will grow on both sandy and clay soils, as long as the drainage is sufficient. In heavy soils it is advisable to add compost or well-rotted manure. Group planting gives the best effect.

Care

Provide the bulbs with organic food when planting. Remove faded flowers to save the bulb, but let the foliage die back completely for optimal regrowth. 'Replete' is a strong, hardy daffodil that can return year after year, especially if it is provided with organic fertilizer annually after flowering.

Propagation

The bulbs can be dug up in June or July and stored in a dry, warm place until autumn. Small secondary bulbs can be planted separately and will flower after a few years with the right care. Give these young bulbs sufficient nutrition to stimulate their growth.

History of the 'Replete'

The cultivar Narcissus 'Replete' is a modern classic within the group of double daffodils. It was loved for its unique play of colours - something that is quite rare within the daffodil family. Its subtle beauty makes it a favourite with garden lovers who are looking for something special, but still looks natural.
