Organic Darwin Hybrid Tulips
The Impression group features tulips with tall, strong stems and large blossoms. When the sun shines on the flowers, they open fully, sometimes reaching up to 15 cm in width. A real must for tulip enthusiasts!
We have selected a beautiful color combination of three varieties for you:
This mix includes all three varieties, each packed separately in groups of 10 so you can plant them together or mixed as you prefer.
How, When and Where to Plant Tulip Bulbs
Tulip bulbs require a period of cold to grow and bloom well. For best results, plant them in autumn, preferably from October. This ensures the bulbs remain in the soil through winter and receive the cold they need to sprout in spring.
Follow this guideline when planting: place the bulb at a depth of about two to three times its height. Keep spacing between bulbs at two to three times their width.
Choose a sunny or partially shaded location. Tulips prefer nutrient-rich, well-drained soil. Loam is ideal. If your soil is sandy, mix in some clay minerals at planting to improve structure. In heavy clay soil, add organic matter like compost to enhance drainage. Good drainage is essential to prevent bulb rot.
Care
Tulip bulbs benefit from a little care to bloom beautifully year after year. When planting, you may add a bit of organic fertilizer, but use sparingly. Excess nutrients can encourage leafy growth while weakening the flowers. Once the blooms fade, remove them from the top of the stem so the energy returns to the bulb rather than creating seeds. Leave the foliage in place, even if untidy, as it provides energy via photosynthesis. Remove it only after it has fully yellowed and died back, usually in July.
To ensure large, strong blooms next year, gently lift the bulbs from the ground after the foliage has died back. Handle with care, remove only loose soil, and keep the outer bulb tunic intact. Allow the bulbs to dry in a warm, well-ventilated spot such as a shed. Replant in autumn using the same instructions as above.
What If Tulip Bulbs Remain in the Ground?
If an organic tulip bulb stays in the ground, it may flower for several years. However, the quality declines yearly, and the risk of diseases such as Botrytis (tulip fire) increases significantly. Therefore, it’s wise to replant bulbs each year in different garden locations to prevent disease buildup and weakening.

Het was een feest in de tuin. Ik had een gedeelte in de geveltuin gepoot, waar ik veel enthousiaste reacties kreeg van voorbijgangers

Mooie bloei
De tulpen hebben prachtig gebloeid. Volle mooie kleuren. Toppers.
