Organic white hyacinths and blue grape hyacinths mix

In mid-spring the hyacinths and blue grape hyacinths come into bloom. The well-known white Hyacinthus 'White Pearl' and the Muscari 'Armeniacum' or the blue grapes. For the best scent, go to the hyacinths. The bees and bumblebees love it too. Plant them in a group in the garden or in pots.

The Bloemoloog® has selected for you:

  •  3 Organic Hyacinthus orientalis 'White pearl'
  • 15 Organic Muscari 'Armeniacum'

Grape hyacinths usually have a low growth habit, reaching a height of about 15 cm, while hyacinths generally grow much taller, ranging from 20 to 30 cm. By planting them together you can create interesting layering and dimension in your flower bed.

Both grape hyacinths and hyacinths produce nectar-rich flowers that attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies. By planting them together you can create an attractive environment for these important pollinating insects.

How, where and when do I plant flower bulbs from this mix?

The flower bulbs of hyacinths and muscari need a cold period. Therefore, plant it in the ground in the autumn from September to January. When planting grape hyacinths and hyacinths, it is important to observe the correct planting depth and planting distance. In general, grape hyacinths are planted at a depth of about 5-8 cm, while hyacinths are planted slightly deeper, usually at a depth of 10-15 cm. For convenience, use 3 times the bulb height and depth for the planting depth and spacing.

Tips: You can also place the flower bulbs in our paper bag in the refrigerator for 9 weeks before planting them. This way the flower bulb gets the cold period and they can also bloom indoors in winter. For flowering at Christmas, the flower bulb must be cooled from October 1st and planted no later than December 6th! Of course, this whole process can also be done later for later flowering.

Place them away from fruit. Fruit gives off ethylene gas, which makes the flowers bloom faster.

Care

Grape hyacinths and hyacinths need moderate water. Keep the soil evenly moist during the growing season, but avoid placing the bulbs in soggy soil. Water when the top layer of the soil feels dry.

For good growth and flowering it is advisable to fertilize the bulbs. We recommend organic potting soil, plant food and other soil improvers Bio-Kultura On!
